I really consider all of my work very personal, but thanks to Hannah I actually introduced this as a new blog post category. I met Hannah in April. Acutally I met her again, I’ve had a photo shoot with her before, in 2011. Hannah is the 14 year old daughter of one of my very long friends. Last summer she was diagnosed with Leukemia, a very rare combination of ALL and the Burkitt Lymphom. All of the sudden, Hannah’s and her family’s life was turned upside down. She had to go through 6 blocks of intensive chemo which hurt her so bad that she had be tube  and had to stay in the hospital most of the time. For the pain they gave her morphium. Her last chemo was in January and fortunatley she’s better now. She still has to take chemo pills for 2 more years. Shortly after our shooting in April she went back to school. She was really looking forward to that.

Meeting with her really touched me and actually kept my mind busy for quite some time. What’s most admirable: After all this, she still has this wonderful smile and contagious positivity that I had always remembered from 2011 when she was just a little girl. She is just incredibly strong and brave!

When you scroll all the way down, there are a few more pictures from our shoot in 2011 and one of her during chemo.

By the way, Hannah’s supporters could also use some (financial) support:
